The TMD Esthetic Practice

Course Description

Building on the knowledge and clinical skills learned in the Functional Occlusion - From TMJ to Smile Design lecture and Comprehensive Examination and Records, this hands-on, small group course will answer the questions that arise when restoring a smile for a patient with compromised temporomandibular joints. You will learn how to differentially diagnose the position and condition of the joint and the implication of the diagnosis on treatment options. This course will equip you to confidently and competently provide restorative treatment to cases that are complicated by the condition of the temporomandibular joint.

The course utilizes a combination of lecture, case studies and hands-on exercises to clarify the issues that have led to confusion in the treatment of TMD disorders. Enrollment is limited to 12 participants to promote maximum interaction and instruction. Students are encouraged to bring their own cases with TMD problems. A protocol for case presentation will be provided in advance to allow all class members to learn and benefit from the case review.
